Most bid errors are not caused by bad pricing. They come from leaving a question unanswered, attaching the wrong version of a document, or pricing a line item that the buyer's scope actually excluded. These are the kinds of gaps that look obvious in hindsight but are easy to miss when you have been working on a bid for an hour. The Bid Quality Coach reads your entire bid before you submit it and returns a structured list of blockers, warnings, and suggestions.

Why this matters

A buyer evaluating ten competing bids will notice an incomplete one immediately. The coach gives you a second opinion from the buyer's perspective before the buyer sees your work. A few minutes of revision based on that feedback can be the difference between landing in the shortlist and being filtered out in the first pass.

When to use it

The Bid Quality Coach is available on the Review & Submit step, the last of the wizard's four steps (Request Details, BoQ, Questions, Review & Submit). You can run it any time you are on that step, including before you have finished the earlier ones. Running it early, once the BoQ is priced but before you have finished Questions, will still surface pricing gaps or missing question answers.

The most effective moment is when you believe the bid is complete but before you click Submit bid.

How to run the coach

  1. Reach Review & Submit and click Quality Check

Complete the earlier wizard steps, Request Details, BoQ, Questions, then navigate to Review & Submit. The Quality Check button sits in the footer action row, beside Save Draft and the submit button. A credit preflight dialog confirms the cost, then click through to start the analysis. The coach reads your entire bid and returns its findings on the same page.

Each run deducts AI credits from your balance. You can check your remaining credits in Settings. All plans can purchase additional AI credits when you need more.

  2. Read the blockers, warnings, and suggestions

The coach returns up to three sections, only rendered when they have content, there is no quality score and no separate strengths list:

    • Blockers are the most serious findings, things the buyer explicitly required that your bid does not address. These are the most important to fix, they directly reduce your chances of being shortlisted.
    • Warnings point to specific parts that could be clearer, more complete, or better positioned.
    • Suggestions are lower-priority, AI-generated pointers worth a look but not required.

If the bid has no issues at all, the coach tells you so instead of showing empty sections.

Work through Blockers first before acting on Warnings or Suggestions.

    Warnings
Notes section is empty, consider adding a brief introduction and a relevant project reference.
    Suggestions
All 18 line items are priced and your ISO certificate is attached, consider adding a delivery-date note to the second section too.
  3. Make your changes and re-run

After reading the feedback, use the edit buttons on the Review step to jump back to the relevant section. Fix or add what the coach flagged, then return to Review.

You can run the coach again to confirm that your updates resolved the issues. Each re-run is a fresh analysis of the current state of your bid. There is no limit to how many times you can run it on the same bid, but each run uses AI credits.

Once you have a result, the Review & Submit step keeps a persistent strip showing its verdict, either "Quality check passed" or a count of flagged items, so you do not need to reopen the coach dialog to remember where things stand. If you keep editing the bid after a run, that strip flags the result as stale so you know a re-run is warranted before you rely on it.

If the coach flags a suggestion you disagree with, you do not have to act on it. The coach is a structured second opinion, not a mandatory checklist. Use your judgment about what serves the buyer's request best.

  4. Submit once you are satisfied

When the coach gives you a clean result or you are satisfied with where the bid stands, click Submit bid (or Submit for Approval if your team requires internal sign-off). The buyer receives your bid and it moves to Active status on your Bids page.

What good looks like

  • Run the coach when you believe the bid is complete, not as the first thing you do. It gives better feedback when most sections are filled.
  • Focus on Blockers before anything else. An unanswered required question can disqualify your bid regardless of how competitive your pricing is.
  • After fixing Blockers, address any Warnings that take less than five minutes. Small additions to the Notes field or a clearer answer to an open-ended question often get flagged here.
  • Re-run after making significant changes, and whenever the result strip flags itself as stale. A fix in one section occasionally reveals a gap in another.
