Set up two-factor authentication
Add a second step to your sign-in with an authenticator app, save your recovery codes, and learn how to turn two-factor off if you need to.
What you'll learn
- Turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app
- Scan the code and confirm with a 6-digit verification code
- Save your recovery codes and know how to turn two-factor off
Two-factor authentication adds a second step when you sign in. After your password, VEXORS asks for a short verification code from an authenticator app on your phone. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot sign in without that code. You set it all up from Settings under Password.
Why this matters
Your VEXORS account holds your company's requests, bids, and award decisions. A password alone can be guessed, reused, or leaked. Two-factor authentication means a stranger would also need the phone in your pocket, which is the single biggest upgrade you can make to your account security in under five minutes.
Before you start
You need an authenticator app on your phone. These apps generate a fresh 6-digit code every 30 seconds. Any of the common ones work, for example Google Authenticator or Authy. Install one from your phone's app store before you begin.
Authenticator appTurn on two-factor authentication
Open Settings and go to the Password page. Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication card. It shows a Disabled badge until you turn it on.
Select Enable 2FA
On the Two-Factor Authentication card, choose Enable 2FA. A panel slides in with a square code to scan.
Scan the code with your authenticator app
Open your authenticator app, add a new account, and scan the square code on screen. If your phone cannot scan it, select the option to enter the key manually and type in the key shown beneath the code.
Enter the 6-digit verification code
Your app now shows a 6-digit code for VEXORS. Type it into the Enter the 6-digit code from your app field, then choose Verify & Enable.
Save your recovery codes
VEXORS shows a set of one-time recovery codes. Save these somewhere safe, then confirm you have saved them to finish.
Once the code is verified, the card switches to an Enabled badge. From your next sign-in onward, VEXORS will ask for a fresh code from your authenticator app after you enter your password.
Save your recovery codes
After two-factor is enabled, VEXORS shows a set of one-time recovery codes. These are your backup. If you ever lose your phone or change devices, a recovery code lets you sign in without the authenticator app. Each code works only once.
Choose Copy All Codes to copy them, then store them somewhere you can reach without your phone, for example a password manager or a printed copy kept somewhere safe. When you are done, select Done: I've saved my codes.
Do not skip the recovery codes
If you lose your phone and have no recovery codes saved, you can be locked out of your account. Save the codes the moment they appear. They are only shown once, so treat them as carefully as you would the password itself.
Keep your recovery codes somewhere separate from your phone. The whole point of a backup is that it still works when your usual device does not.
Signing in with two-factor on
After two-factor is enabled, signing in has one extra step:
- Enter your email and password as usual.
- Open your authenticator app and read the current 6-digit code for VEXORS.
- Enter that code to finish signing in.
The code changes every 30 seconds, so always read the latest one. If a code is rejected, wait for the next one to appear and try again.
Turn two-factor authentication off
You can turn two-factor off at any time from the same Two-Factor Authentication card. When it is enabled, the card shows a Disable 2FA button.
Select Disable 2FA, then enter a current 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm. This last check makes sure it is really you turning the protection off. Once confirmed, your account returns to password-only sign-in.
We recommend leaving two-factor authentication on. Only turn it off if you are switching to a new phone, and in that case turn it back on with the new device as soon as you can.
